Zhenhai Intelligent Technology (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. (referred to as Zhenhai Intelligent) is registered at the China Singapore International Joint Research Institute. The China Singapore International Joint Research Institute is a major scientific and technological cooperation project signed under the witness of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. It is a major international scientific and technological cooperation platform that gathers world-class research and development resources. Zhenhai Intelligent is a leading specialized company in the research, manufacturing, and sales of underwater welding robots and high-end underwater welding power sources in China. It has strong research and engineering capabilities in underwater robot control and body design, high-performance underwater welding power sources, visual processing and scene restoration technology, and extreme environment high-performance welding manufacturing processes. It can provide world-class integrated solutions for underwater manufacturing technology.
South China University of Technology is located in Guangzhou and is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education. It is one of the "Four Major Engineering Colleges" of New China and a Class A university under the national "211 Project", "985 Project", and "Double First Class" construction; Since 2020, it has consistently ranked among the top 200 universities in the "World Academic Ranking" of Shanghai Soft Science. The school has 29 national level scientific research platforms and 231 provincial-level scientific research platforms, ranking among the top universities in China and Guangdong in terms of quantity. The school consistently ranks among the top universities in China in terms of the number of patent applications made public, patent authorizations granted, and effective patent ownership. Since 2009, it has been ranked first among universities in China in terms of the number of Chinese patent awards won by the first patent holder.
South China University of Technology is one of the two earliest institutions in China to conduct research on underwater welding. It has achieved a series of high-level research results in underwater robot welding, including underwater mobile platforms, underwater welding power sources, micro drainage covers, submersible wire feeding devices, underwater environment perception, physical modeling and computational simulation of welding processes, and process performance prediction and evaluation optimization. The research team has built a core technology patent pool for underwater robot welding from four dimensions: energy supply, material transportation, spatial support, and information exchange. The layout of high-value patents ranks among the top in the world. The research work was featured on the front page of Science and Technology Daily as one of the 35 "bottleneck" technologies, and was highlighted by People's Daily as a typical innovative achievement.
South China University of Technology and Zhenhai Intelligent focus on major industrial scenarios such as the ocean economy, aiming at the bottleneck problems of key core technologies in the industry, jointly building the "Underwater Manufacturing Technology Joint Laboratory", driving the deep integration of university enterprise innovation chain and industry chain, and creating a new model of industry university research collaboration with resource integration, clear division of labor, and orderly coordination. Both parties will use the joint laboratory as a link, fully utilizing their respective advantages, to carry out in-depth industry university research cooperation in various aspects of research and development work such as underwater robot operation platform, underwater welding power supply technology, micro drainage device, submersible wire feeding technology, underwater multi-source data information exchange, and underwater welding process quality optimization, breaking the "innovation island", enhancing the endogenous driving force of innovation, promoting the solution of the "bottleneck" problem of underwater robot welding, forming new quality productivity, and achieving independent controllability.
